Services
Individual therapy sessions are inspired by a variety of approaches, including, but not limited to:

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) - learning to allow yourself to have feelings and handle them rather than letting them run you.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - exploring the origins of thinking and behavior patterns to identify patterns and work on changing these patterns.

Internal Family Systems (IFS) - identify different parts of yourself to increase self-understanding and acceptance, and work on building and/or improving compassion, curiosity, clarity, creativity, calm, confidence, courage, and connectedness.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy - helping individuals develop skills to manage their emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and tolerate distress.

Behavior modification

Positive Psychology - this includes focus on identifying and increasing strengths and taking a different approach to changes that need to be made.

Couples’ counseling sessions use these approaches and many more. I alternate couples’ sessions with 1:1 sessions with each partner. This helps me to better understand them as individuals and I use what I learn to guide them in improving their understanding and acceptance of each other.

Family therapy services are provided when the primary client is under age 13. The best way I can help a child is to help their parents. I will meet and work with the child and parents individually and together to identify skills that need to be developed and guide parents to make updates to their parenting techniques to address problem behaviors and reduce concerns for their child/ren. In addition to parent coaching, I utilize some play therapy, art therapy, CBT and DBT to increase kids' repertoire of coping skills.
